LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Sir,

GLOBAL WARMING

In encouraging world leaders to tinker with the inevitable by devoting up to 1% of their countries' economies to combat global warning, Sir Nick Stern has missed the boat.

It is increasingly clear that global warming is inexorable and will change the world as we know it.

Rather than trying to emulate King Canute, and inconvenience people in the short term by restricting travel and the like, it would be more to the point to discuss what we are going to do to manage that change. It is time to select who will live and who will die when the waters rise.

Sincerely,

John Eoin Douglas
