LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Sir,

SHERIDAN TRIAL

It seems that the Supreme Courts Administration have deliberately chosen one of their smallest court rooms as the forum for Tommy Sheridan's case against the News of the World in order to discourage the public from seeing justice being done in this most interesting case.

Last week, I saw card carrying journalists being excluded from the trial because their names weren't on "the list" whilst interested members of Mr Sheridan's party and other members of the public were also sternly denied entrance as they weren't in the first 18. Meanwhile, two smiling American visitors were ushered into the court by an obsequious official.

Is it any wonder that so many Scots have lost confidence in our system of secret justice?

Sincerely,

John Eoin Douglas
