LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Dear Sir,
ROAD SAFETY
Some years ago, our City Fathers took a scunner to stone setts (cobbles) in Edinburgh - apart from in the "heritage" area of the High Street - and arranged for them to be covered up with a a thin layer of Tarmacadam.
At the top of Easter Road, the Tarmacadam is now beginning to wear out and the glorious original road surface can be seen in patches.
Would it be possible for the Council to remove the last vestiges of the Tarmacadam or must cyclists and pedestrians continue to suffer from lumps flying off under heavy traffic?
Sincerely,
John Eoin Douglas
